According to ESPN, the board of directors of Man United held a closed meeting to discuss the consequences after the interview between Cristiano Ronaldo and SunSport journalist Piers Morgan was made public in recent days.
In this unscheduled meeting, coach Erik ten Hag announced that he did not need Ronaldo in the squad for the rest of the season. The Dutch leader is also ready to let CR7 leave in the winter transfer window of 2023, whether Man United finds a replacement or not.
Before that, Ronaldo had an interview with Piers Morgan and many statements of the Portuguese player made the public shocked.

Some sources in the UK revealed that the Man United’s Board of Directors held an emergency meeting and considered terminating the contract with Ronaldo 6 months before the deadline at the request of coach Ten Hag. The Red Devils are ready to let the 37-year-old striker leave for free in January 2023.
