Son Tung M-TP’s new MV “There’s No One At All” is currently the focus of controversy of Vietnamese netizens and has received negative comments from the authorities.

According to The Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information (Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications) said:

“The content in Son Tung M-TP’s new MV with the image of suicide is negative for young people and will negatively affect teenagers. Especially, in the context of many cases of Vietnamese students committing suicide recently”.

Son Tung M-TP’s new MV also violates Clause 4, Article 3, Decree 144/202/Decree – Government on art performance activities and penalties for violations in customs. The Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information has coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to ban this MV in Vietnam and will issue a sanction against the male singer Son Tung M-TP.

It is known that the ban on Son Tung M-TP’s new MV is due to the content of the MV “There’s No One At All” which is causing an uproar in public opinion. Most Vietnamese people condemn negative images of young people’s suicide. Others are anti-fans protesting because Son Tung M-TP used many images and styles similar to South Korean male singer G-Dragon.

YouTube Vietnam has also received a request to ban this MV on the YouTube platform.

The official media channel of the Government of Vietnam has also commanded to immediately remove Son Tung M-TP’s new MV on all platforms.

After the controversy over the content of the new music product, Son Tung M-TP apologized and announced the suspension of the release of the MV “There’s No One At All” on Vietnamese servers. However, YouTube users can fake IP (VPN) to other countries to be able to watch this MV normally.

On the evening of April 29, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Department had sent an invitation to singer Nguyen Thanh Tung (stage name: Son Tung M-TP) who reside in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. He must come to work and provide relevant information about the MV “There’s No One At All“.

“Currently, we have just sent an invitation to male singer Son Tung M-TP. The Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City will work with the male singer after Vietnam’s Reunification Day (April 30). Then we will take appropriate sanctions”.
