Yesterday, the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) decided to exclude the Russian team from the 2022 Chemistry Olympiad.
According to International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), Russian students will still be able to participate but in a neutral role. They do not allow to use of the Russian national flag or Russian national anthem.
Achievements and medals are countable for individuals only (not for their country).
The decision IChO was made due to many complaints from the teams of the EU countries & the US. They do not want to take part in with Russians. The IChO also said that the organization supports Ukraine in the war.
The Russian Chemistry Olympiad Team is strong. Russians also have a strong passion for Chemistry & Physics and have hosted the IChO many times.
It’s ridiculous, after successfully punishing the Russian team, Western education will still use the “Periodic Table” created by Dmitri Mendeleev – a Russian chemist.
