On the evening of May 28 (UTC+7), Mr. Nathan Swenson – Principal of ISHCMC – American Academy spoke out confirming the incident of school violence. The Government Portal and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam have requested the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to solve the case.
Previously, Ms. Tran Ha Thuy (a.k.a Thuy Bi, a singer), accused ISHCMC – American Academy of letting her daughter and 4 other friends be brutally beaten by an older female student.

Mr. Nathan Swenson – Principal of ISHCMC – American Academy said that there were incidents of students arguing “outside the school grounds”. He intervened and let the students into the medical room. The nurse determined the student had scratches, scrapes, and no serious health problems.
The school has been arranging a family-school meeting early next week.
Mr. Nathan Swenson also shared: “ISHCMC – American Academy has a school safety team and 2 other counselors who will assist with student problems. But when this case happened, the students chose to solve it by themselves, making the case seriously.”

However, Ms. Tran Ha Thuy denied that her daughter received a medical examination after the incident. The mother added that she has not received any phone call to apologize from the school and she will send her child out of this school.
Yesterday, May 28 (UTC+7), Tran Ha Thuy live-streamed again about the incident, with more than 120,000 viewers. Today, May 29, she posted on Facebook saying that she wants to find a lawyer to support her.

Your carelessness in reporting and the mothers attitude has impacted more schools than this one. The mother is thinking more about her own ego than the wellbeing of children. She wants to be able to have a go at another child? Is she serious?
Completely correct. There’s not a decent school out there that would allow one parent to interact with another person’s child. Beyond this she has probably greatly hurt her child’s own academic options now. There isn’t a decent local international school in Vietnam, that isn’t aware of this now so good luck in trying to find a new program.
