According to the UK press, Manchester United is getting closer to appointing Erik ten Hag as the new head coach from the 2022/23 season, replacing Ralf Rangnick as interim coach.
Currently, Ten Hag is at the top of the list of candidates for the new coach. Ten Hag will lead Man United under a long-term contract.
However, the representation of Manchester United confirmed that the recruitment process for a new coach is still ongoing and no one is certain. At the recent England national team gathering, Man United took advantage of the interview with the candidates.
The club wants a replacement as soon as possible (scheduled to be before the end of April) to decide on Summer Football Transfer and pre-season preparations. Ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are the top two contenders but it seems the Dutch tactician is making a higher impression.
Although there is still no official information about Man United will choose Ten Hag. But there are more rumors to believe that the 52-year-old strategist will become the club’s coach. It is known that Man Utd will have to pay £ 1.7 million for Ajax Amsterdam. This saves more than £15m which they would have had to pay PSG for Pochettino. The difference is up to nearly 10 times.
Besides, The Sun also reported that former assistant Rene Meulensteen is being considered to be invited back to Old Trafford to be the right-hand for Ten Hag.
