On May 6, Cuban authorities confirmed that at least five people were killed in a massive explosion at hotel Saratoga.
Hotel Saratoga is located opposite the Capitolio de La Habana (El Capitolio Nacional) – a famous historical structure in the center of Havana. Search and rescue work is still being carried out urgently after the big explosion at hotel Saratoga.
The Cubadebate quoted several sources about the cause of the explosion could be an incident in the transportation of liquefied gas to the Saratoga hotel, and forecast that the death toll would continue to rise.
According to the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba of Havana – Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, there are still many people trapped in the hotel.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez went directly to the scene of the massive explosion at hotel.
