Although still in the development stage in the Beta Test server, Alhaitham is currently receiving a lot of Nerf waves for everything related to him, making the Genshin Impact gaming community quite surprised and disgruntled.
More specifically, according to the leaked sources of Genshin Impact, part of Alhaitham’s skill set was heavily Nerfed, mainly in the damage of heavy attacks and elemental/Rage skills as follows:
Heavy Damage:
- (Level 10) 140.8%+140.8% -> 112.6%+112.6%
E. Universal – Drafting by Template :
- Strike Damage: 352.8% Attack +705..6% Elemental Mastery -> 352.8% Attack +282.2% Elemental Mastery
Q. Area – Scenery Chains:
- Damage Per Time: 218.9% Attack + 437.8% Elemental Mastery -> 218.9% Attack +175.1% Elemental Mastery
Not stopping there, even Alhaitham’s passive, which increases damage, is nerfed quite confusingly as follows:
Thien Phu: Exposing the Secret:
- Each point of Alhaitham’s Elemental Mastery increases 0.12% -> 0.09 damage dealt from Shock Light and Area – Scenic Chains.
- Damage dealt from Shock Light and Area – Scenic Chains is maxed out by 100% -> 90% this way.
In the end, not even Alhaitham’s weapons could save our muscular scholar. In general, the total damage of this weapon is really a slight buff for the total damage dealt, but it is quite reach this maximum damage (mostly you only need 16 attacks to reach the maximum damage, after change requires 28 hits). Specifically, this change is as follows:
- The rate of violence increased by 4%;
- When attacking normally dealing Elemental Damage, you will gain the effect “Foliage of Judgment”: Increases damage dealt from basic attacks and Elemental Skills based on 200% Elemental Mastery -> 120% Elemental Mastery To . This effect will disappear after applying 16 times -> 28 times or after 12s , every 12s maximum gain the effect “Foliage of Judgment” once.
Overall, according to the gaming community, the only thing that can “save” the character of Alhaitham is extreme damage to compensate for the skill design and fighting style that is too similar to the Thao Keqing. However, before this huge Nerf wave, Alhaitham’s damage when there is a town may be even lower than that of Tighnari with a town (according to some gamers’ analysis).
At least this is still information from the beta test server and may change in the future, but usually new characters are buffed with strong damage instead of nerfs, so this is a rather strange move from Hoyoverse and look forward to seeing the final results in the near future.
