When was the last time a new technology really surprised you? ChatGPT can do just that. This chatbot can answer anything you ask or write you anything you can think of.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that can do anything. ChatGPT is like someone talking to you, not a machine. If you ask it to convert 75 degrees F to degrees C, you might get an answer like this:
“A temperature of 75 degrees F is equivalent to approximately 23.89 degrees C. To convert degrees F to degrees C, you can use the following formula:
Degree Celsius = (Degrees F – 32) / 1.8
Using this formula, you can work out that 75 degrees Fahrenheit is equivalent to (75 – 32) / 1.8 = 23.89 degrees Celsius. That means 75 degrees Fahrenheit is only slightly cooler than the average room temperature, which is usually around 25-26 degrees Celsius”
That’s impressive, but to really have fun with ChatGPT, you can ask it to write you something – a poem, song, script – with any parameter you can think of . And ChatGPT will write it for you.
For example, when asked ChatGPT to write a horror story about a…killer garlic clove, it returned a 7-paragraph story that, while certainly unlikely to win any horror awards, is still relatable. quite entertaining. Here is an excerpt from the story:
“Once upon a time, in a small village in Italy, there was a clove of garlic unlike any other. It was larger and more pungent than others, and exuded a dark, malevolent atmosphere. No one knows where it came from, but it quickly became known as the ‘killer garlic’.”

You can do the same thing with any idea that comes to mind, no matter how complex. The statement “Write a sad Taylor Swift pop about a tiny kitten lying in a nest, befriending a mouse. After getting to know each other, they tear each other apart because they are so different, but they still keep happy, albeit painful, memories of their time together. Including a chorus and a final transition” produces some really interesting results.
The possibilities of ChatGPT are almost limitless. One TikToker used ChatGPT to create a list of weeknight dinners for people with “picky fish” habits, then asked it to put the data in tables to make it easier to read, then asked it to create it. a shopping list for the ingredients for the aforementioned meals. Many programmers send ChatGPT code to have it check for errors while others ask it to write code for specific tasks and ChatGPT did not disappoint developers.
How does ChatGPT work?
ChatGPT is not the first AI chatbot to appear, but the first to be so human-like. ChatGPT runs on GPT-3.5, a language model that OpenAI developers (the creators of AI DALL-E 2) trained to generate text snippets. This language is combined with Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF), which is a model that allows ChatGPT to analyze conversations instead of just plain text. However, the real raw material is the huge amount of data that OpenAI has trained for ChatGPT, pulling information from the internet provided by users. This chatbot not only has a huge amount of knowledge, but it also knows how to look like a human.
But don’t worry, we won’t be facing a real-life Ultron. ChatGPT is not connected to the internet so it cannot communicate outside of its network. It also doesn’t have a lot of knowledge about anything after 2021, so you can see holes in its ability to handle anything related to 2022 or beyond.
