FIFA has divided the group stage of the World Cup Finals 2022. Let’s evaluate these groups.
Group A
The home team Qatar did not have to fight in the qualifying round. Therefore, assessing their strength is not easy. More recently, Qatar suffered heavy defeats against Portugal, Ireland, and Serbia last fall, followed by a draw against Azerbaijan. However, they won the AFC Asian Cup in 2019, under the guidance of Spanish coach, Félix Sánchez.
The home team will open the 2022 World Cup with Ecuador. The South American representative has reached the World Cup for the 4th time.
The strongest team in Group A is probably the Netherlands. Coach Louis Van Gaal is gradually strengthening the power of “The Clockwork Orange” and the Dutch fans are dreaming of a miracle like 2014. Meanwhile, Senegal is the defending champions of Africa and their strength is terrible.
Group B
The England national football team owns a lot of quality stars in both defense and attack. They reached the semi-finals of the World Cup 2018 and the final of EURO 2021. The “Three Lions” fans hope that their team can recreate the feat of 1966. But there are still too many surprises for the team of Gareth Southgate.
The US is the 2nd highest-rated team in Group B, but they struggled to qualify. Iran will probably just be a background team. Meanwhile, the remaining name of this table has not been determined. It will be one of Scotland, Wales, or Ukraine who have not yet completed the European play-off.
Group C
Lionel Messi‘s Argentina is very determined to have a 3rd time at the top of the world. After ending the 28-year title thirst with the championship of The 2021 Copa América. La Albiceleste is very confident in new ambitions.
Argentina’s biggest rival is Mexico. This team is always very uncomfortable with every opponent even though it has never been a championship candidate.
Poland can also surprise with a dangerous Robert Lewandowski. Meanwhile, the “rich guy” Saudi Arabia will probably be at the bottom.
Group D
The French team is still maintaining respectable strength and good squad quality. The important thing is that coach Didier Deschamps will find out how to promote the capacity of the stars in the best way. Failure at EURO 2021 shows that Les Bleus still has a lot of weaknesses.
The reigning World Champions will have to be wary of Denmark, who have won nine of their 10 qualifying matches and are still making steady progress. Meanwhile, Tunisia may not pose a significant threat. The last place in this group will belong to the UAE, Australia, or Peru.
Group E – Table of Death
The lucky draw brought two championship candidates, Germany and Spain, to face each other on the group stage. After two consecutive World Cups with poor performance, Spain is recovering strongly under Luis Enrique‘s hands.
Meanwhile, Germans also have positive changes under the new coach Hansi Flick.
Lucky to be in Qatar, Japan will probably be very difficult for the 7th time in a row to attend the World Cup. The rest of this group will be Costa Rica or New Zealand. Neither of these teams will bring many surprises.
Group F
The 2022 World Cup could be the last chance for the golden generation of the Belgian team. The pillars of the Red Devils are old, especially in the defense. If not careful, Belgium may have to return home soon because their opponents are all dangerous.
The representative of Africa – Morocco, is the best-attacking team in the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Canada is in high spirits as it returns to the World Cup for the first time in 36 years.
In addition, the World runner-up Croatia has declined in strength. But do not belittle Luka Modrić.
Group G
Brazil is still waiting for the next World Cup championship after exactly 20 years. Tite‘s students finished an impressive 2022 World Cup qualifier. But in 2018, Selecao is also expected a lot. But they brought only bitter disappointment.
In fact, Brazil’s opponents in Group G are not easy to beat. Switzerland has always been a dark horse in the tournament.
Serbia has no shortage of talent, while Cameroon offers the unpredictability of African teams.
Group H – Dramatic group
This is probably the most-watched group of the 2022 World Cup when the difference in level between the teams is not too much. Portugal is the highest rated with famous stars. But they had to struggle to get through the play-offs to go to Qatar.
Uruguay has made a strong revival.
South Korea had a successful qualifying round at the hands of Paulo Bento.
Meanwhile, Ghana also has stars who are playing successfully in Europe.
